Rick Morrison

Rick Morrison is president and founder of Metalogic Software Corporation. Rick's work in software development extends over 20 years. His involvement has been instrumental in the development and implementation of numerous strategic software applications.

Rick was technical architect of Canada's National Forest Information System (NFIS), an ambitious multi-year project to integrate federal and provincial database and geospatial data sources through a service-oriented design. DACS, the open source foundation for the Swift family of products, was conceived and developed under the auspices of the NFIS. Rick has designed and built applications for the U.S. State Department, Natural Resources Canada, the Province of British Columbia and numerous other private and public sector customers. He has instructed at University of British Columbia Continuing Education and in the Computer Science Department at Vancouver Community College. Rick's knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm for building "simpler, faster, better" plays a key role in Metalogic's success.

Rick has completed the breadth requirement for Doctor of Philosophy in the Department of Computer Science, University of British Columbia. He holds a Master of Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Barry Brachman

Barry Brachman directs product design and development for Metalogic. Barry has over 20 years experience in software development and is an expert in the field of network protocols, distributed systems and Web security.

Barry is president of DSS Distributed Systems Software, Metalogic's strategic partner in the development and sales of the Swift product family. Barry has worked as Senior Software Engineer with Open Text Corp., where he designed and implemented HTML parsing and web page summary generation software. As Director of NSG Network Software Group, Inc. he undertook numerous major technical projects for industry-leading clients such as Hughes Aircraft of Canada. He contributed to the Open Geospatial Consortium's Critical Infrastructure Protection Initiative. Barry has lectured on operating systems and networking in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia. His extensive experience in challenging software development brings tremendous depth, insight and knowledge to the Metalogic team.

Dr. Brachman holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia.

Erlene Amero

Erlene Amero is Manager of Marketing and Communications for Metalogic and oversees all external communications, market and product analysis and is actively involved in strategic business development.

She has over eight years experience in emergency management in British Columbia. In addition, she has almost 20 years management experience in the non-profit sector. Her background in security and emergency response-related issues provides a unique insight into emerging communication requirements and trends in the government and research sector. She joined Metalogic Software in January 2007.

Erlene has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Communication from Royal Roads University and has done extensive research in the field of adult education in e-formats.
